Our Mission
Why We’re Creating 360° Walkthroughs — And How They Help
At Mountains For All CIC, we believe everyone deserves to feel the freedom, joy, and connection that comes from being in the great outdoors — no matter their ability, health condition, or personal circumstances.
Over the past year, we’ve been listening to local disability charities and community groups plus many groups on social media— including Ability Counts, Eden Mencap, Sunbeams Music Trust, Cumbria Disability Network, and others — to listen, learn, and co-create a new way forward.
Many people with disabilities, long-term conditions, or neurodivergence face a powerful and often invisible barrier: uncertainty. Not knowing what a trail looks like, whether it’s suitable for a wheelchair, how steep it might be, or whether there are safe places to rest can cause anxiety, fear, and isolation.
We’re here to change that — by capturing immersive 360° virtual walkthroughs of real, accessible hikes across the UK.
What We Do
From the peaceful fells of the Lake District to the rugged beauty of the Scottish Highlands, we take small groups of disabled and neurodivergent individuals on specially selected, accessible walks — including some of the UK’s most iconic routes, like the Wainwrights.
These walks aren’t just about the destination — they’re about shared experiences. Together, we build confidence, spark friendships, and show that the mountains truly are for everyone.
While we’re on the trail, we capture the entire journey in high-quality 360° video — turning each hike into a free, immersive virtual tour available to anyone, anywhere.
Building a Movement Across the UK
But we’re not stopping there.
We’re working toward creating a network of local community groups across the UK — bringing together disabled individuals, carers, volunteers, and outdoor lovers to connect through nature.
These groups will help support and encourage more people to get outside safely, offer peer support, and promote positive mental health through shared outdoor adventures — both in person and virtually.
By walking together and sharing our journeys, we’re creating a ripple effect of inclusion, inspiration, and possibility.
Bringing the Mountains to Those Who Can’t Reach Them
We’re also passionate about reaching those who may never be able to experience the mountains physically.
That’s why we’re partnering with schools, SEN units, and care homes across the country to deliver interactive virtual experiences of the UK’s most beautiful trails. Whether it’s a child with complex needs or an older adult in residential care, everyone deserves the chance to feel the peace, beauty, and wonder of wild places.
Our free 360° mountain tours can be watched on VR headsets, tablets, computers, or phones. They include descriptive audio for the visually impaired, easy navigation, and rich storytelling about the history, wildlife, and culture of each place.
The Benefits
Reduce anxiety: By previewing the route in advance, people can assess accessibility and feel confident about what to expect.
Inspire exploration: Seeing others like them on the trail gives people the motivation to try it themselves.
Provide access from home: For those unable to get out, our videos offer a calming, immersive way to connect with nature.
Build real-world connections: Community groups will help foster friendships, support networks, and shared goals.
Reach the next generation: Virtual tours in schools introduce young people to nature, geography, and wellbeing in a fun, interactive way.
Our Vision
By 2028, we aim to reach over 1 million people through our virtual experiences — creating not just access, but a sense of belonging, empowerment, and joy in the outdoors.
Every hike we take, every group we support, and every tour we create helps someone feel less alone, more inspired, and more connected — to nature and to each other.
This isn’t just a project. It’s a national movement for inclusion and outdoor access.
Because when we say Mountains For All — we mean it.
